Dayna Wixson Woerner

Novato, CA

Largely self-taught, I have enjoyed making arts and crafts for as long as I can remember. Growing up on Disney films, I was mesmerized by the background illustrations that brought the films to life. My parallel passion is animals and the natural world. In my paintings, I explore both, often incorporating symbolic elements. My guiding principles are to have fun and be authentic while also working to improve my technical skills. Some artists that inspire me are Victor Castillo, Chris Buzelli, Femke Heimstra, Walton Ford, and Andy Dixon with their use of color, subject, skill and expression.

I was born and raised in Oakland, currently live in Novato Ca, and consider myself lucky to live among majestic oaks and near the Pacific Ocean. When I am not painting I enjoy spending time with my husband and two adult daughters.
