To me, art is all about feeling and emotion. I try to convey that in my portraiture and my land and seascapes. Without my art I would be a lost soul.
I've been painting for fifty plus years. I studied at the Art Student's League in New York City; Fashion Institute of Technology, Fine Arts Program and the Forest Park School of Arts under the instruction of Robert Barrell. I am a figurative fine artist, fascinated by the light and shadow play on my subjects. I prefer to work in oil, which I find the most forgiving and pleasurable medium. My paintings are very personal, I love to paint those moments that capture the mood of my subject, be it a portrait, or a landscape. When you look at my paintings I want you to see what I see and to feel the mood and the emotion of that moment, if I can capture that I consider my painting successful.
