I am a computer graphic artist, cartoonist, collage artist and painter who received a BA in Advertising Design from MIchigan, class of '71. I am currently focusing on my new daily cartoon strip, "The Coronials," which can be found on Instagram at planet5831. My other strips, "Boomer, Daughter of Mom Nature" and "Planet B", about 80 strips, can be seen by scrolling down there. My fine art can be seen at kell_gary. Thanks for looking!
Gary Kell joined MarinMOCA in 2017, but submitted pieces to their annual Altered Book Show for 11 years, all of which sold. My cartoons have been published in the alternative press in the 70s, San Francisco Consumer Action News, the Chronicle/Examiner This World sunday magazine for several years in the 1980s-90s ("Cityscapes"); the City Magazine ("Fun Facts from Frisco"); the Marin IJ in the early 90s ("Marin World"); dozens of cartoons in the national "Funny Times," and dozens of blue ribbons, special merit awards and Best of Shows in the Marin County Fair cartoon competitions over many years. After getting many collages into the Marin Fair Fine Arts show, I finally won a blue ribbon in 2017 for my large mixed media anti-war collage, "Fake War." The year after that, "Beachcombers" won the Jeanne Bogardus "Most Creative" Award.
