Colleen Johnson

Novato, CA

I have been drawing and painting since I was a child, although I have had many other interests and pursuits, including a wonderful career as an estate planning paralegal. For the past 20 years, however, I have really focused back on painting and drawing, and selling my artwork. I hope to keep doing this for many more years. The world and its creatures and plants are just too beautiful not to try to express something about them and how I feel about them.

I studied art at San Diego State University and U.C. Berkeley and with many fine artists over the years. I work with pastels, acrylics, graphite & colored pencils, and watercolors. My range of work includes landscapes, botanical, still life and, more currently, abstract works.
I have been an artist member of MarinMOCA and its parent organization since 2004. I have curated many of its exhibits and am a gallery installation head.
