I am a mixed media artist specializing in the beauty of the natural world.
After I retired from a 35 1/2 year career at Lucasfilm Ltd., which started by my typing the script to the first Star Wars movie on an IBM Selectric typewriter, and ended with my being in charge of the book and music publishing department, I took up art full time. I always painted and took art classes while working but didn't have as much time to pursue my own vision, as I was too busy playing in the world George Lucas had invented. Since I stopped working I've taken all the art classes Chester Arnold offered through the College of Marin, and various workshops from a number of talented local artists and photographers. I've explored pen & ink drawing, oil and watercolor painting, printmaking (woodcuts, collagraph, and monoprints, with oil, wax, and water based inks), fabric art, art quilts, photography, and cold and hot wax. I like experimenting and am constantly pursuing interesting ways to combine disparate elements to create something new.
