Timeless Themes of the Persian Perspective
Persia (Iran), is an extraordinary land that evokes different feelings when mentioned: different for those who focus on its politics, and different for those who focus on its art, history, and culture.
My work celebrates a side of Iran that focuses on its distinctive art and imagery from the past and present, My goal is to explore, present and showcase the scope and range of Persian art while transcending the constraints of ideological and cultural borders.

Shiva Pakdel grew up in Abadan, Iran during the 60s. Abadan, one of the most liberal cities in Iran, offered a modern western lifestyle in a land of history and tradition. This exposure to both east and west provided her with great appreciation and enjoyment for art, culture, history, and poetry of Iran, as well as the art and culture of the West.
Shiva is an artist, artist advocate, art curator, and a collector, with many years of corporate marketing and advertising experience.
She is a board member of Marin Open Studios, a member of Auxiliary of the Fine Art Museum of San Francisco, and an independent art curator, most recently for Madrigal Artist Series where she curated more than 40 exhibitions in the past four years.
