My art practice is inspired by the natural landscapes encountered in land and sea explorations over many years. Observing patterns and formations from the Arctic Circle to the Great Barrier Reef has provided the palettes and inspiration to expand and abstract these vistas. As an oil, wax and acrylic painter, I work with ground pigments extracted from minerals and botanicals suspended in wax, oil or medium. Posing questions about the past, present and future of these land and seascapes is central to my art practice.

As a third generation female artist, my art practice evolved from exposure to a range of art mediums at a young age. The daughter of NASA scientists, my education explored not only art, but also questions in physics and philosophy. After attending several years of atelier art study in Scandinavia, I completed a BA in Philosophy at John Carroll University and continued study at the Cleveland Institute of Art. A full time professional artist, my work is in the permanent collections of the NY Hall of Science Museum (NYC), the Hosby Konstall Print Museum (Sweden), the Museum of Encaustic Art (New Mexico) and numerous commercial and private collections.

My studio is in the ICB Building (Studio 126), 480 Gate 5 Rd, Sausalito, CA.

I am a member of the SF Women Artists Association, International Encaustic Artists Assoc., National Assoc. of Independent Artists and the ICB Artists Assoc.
