Tai chi is back! Warm-ups will begin each class and the tai chi principles will be emphasized as we learn the Short Form as developed by H. H. Lui.
Tai chi is an ancient form of exercise, first created in China, and designed to improve and rebuild one’s body, mind and spirit. Basically a form of dance, tai chi is “meditation in motion.” Increasingly embraced by the western world, the benefits of tai chi, particularly for seniors, has been well documented and supported by healthcare practitioners and the medical community. Practiced routinely, tai chi will improve your balance, strength and flexibility.
Wear loose, comfortable clothes and soft-soled shoes if possible.
Gloria has practiced tai chi for nearly 30 years and has taught for many years at the San Anselmo Recreation Center, Piedmont Adult School, and through the Oakland Adult Education programs.
No experience necessary. All must sign a release waiver with Gloria before participating.
