Ceramics Workshop 101

Ceramics Workshop 101

Six Thursdays, October 7, 14, 21, 28; November 4, 11; 1:30 - 4:30pm

Instructor: Jazmin Harrington

We are following the California Dept. of Public Health and Marin County Health Dept. mask requirement until further notice.
Regardless of vaccination status, masks are required for visitors age 2 and up in our indoor public spaces or classroom.

This ceramics workshop will focus on clay hand building techniques. The class will begin with three basic methods: coil building, pinching, and slab work. Students will then begin working with glazes to make the basic bowl and cup, and from there, combine newfound skills to make a box and experiment in sculpture.

Jazmin specializes in realism and the workshop will end with a portrait project where students will learn to sculpt the features of the face.

Jazmin Harrington is a ceramic sculpture artist from Oakland. She graduated from San Francisco State with a BA in Studio Art and Education. She has been playing with clay for six years and loves every minute of it.

Fees:  Members $275; Non-members $320 - Plus $35 materials fee paid directly to instructor

Where: 781 Hamilton Parkway, Novato (building behind Beso Café)
