This ceramics workshop will focus on clay hand building techniques. The class will begin with three basic methods: coil building, pinching, and slab work. Students will then begin working with glazes to make the basic bowl and cup, and from there, combine newfound skills to make a box and experiment in sculpture.
Jazmin specializes in realism and the workshop will end with a portrait project where students will learn to sculpt the features of the face.
Jazmin Harrington is a ceramic sculpture artist from Oakland. She graduated from San Francisco State with a BA in Studio Art and Education. She has been playing with clay for six years and loves every minute of it.
