The Art of Botanical Printing

Saturday, June 14; 10am to 4pm

Instructor: Tracy Flanagan

Using natural dyes, local foliage, heat, and water you will learn to print garments and linens through multiple bundling and folding techniques.

Learn to:

- Collect foliage that will print on cloth and paper

- Prepare paper and cloth for different artistic effects

- Bundle and steam for different effects

- Create artistic design layouts

- Set up your home (space, materials, equipment) to ecoprint

As a textile artist, writer, and physician, Tracy believes that hand marked fabric and cloth is ‘everyday art’ that can wrap and heal the body and spirit. Throughout her life she has rebirthed cloth with thread, color, and design, as quilts, garments, and fabric collage. Using natural dye products extracted from the earth and plants, she breathes new life into these designed cloths, transforming them into beautiful articles to be touched, worn, and gazed upon by their owners. www.tftextileart.com
