For Families

Free Family Day Resumes on August 2

First Sunday of each month, 11am – 3pm
Suitable for children ages 5 -12

We have reconfigured our popular “Family Day” art-making program to occur outdoors on our beautiful campus. Families will work at their own table, distanced from other tables, and protected from the sun. Each child will receive his/her own art kit with all the materials necessary to complete a mixed media project. Professional MarinMOCA art teachers will circulate, wearing masks, to give instruction and encouragement.

Outdoor Family Days are planned for Sundays on August 2, September 6 and October 4. Twelve people per hour may be accommodated and reservations are strongly encouraged for the 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm sessions. Please call 415-506-0137 or email at info@marinmoca.org to secure your spot.

Families may also visit MarinMOCA’s outdoor sculpture exhibition, using our free Sculpture Tour Guide. The guide suggests questions to encourage your student to learn about the sculpture.

The Museum’s indoor galleries are also open and families receive free admission on Family Days. All family members 12 and older must wear masks for both the indoor and outdoor activities.

Planning your visit is easy.

  • View our map to navigate to our campus.  Free parking is available across the street.  Or take SMART to the Hamilton station, and enjoy a 4-minute walk down the hill to the museum.
  • Snacks are available for purchase at the museum. Or bring a picnic and enjoy the lawns surrounding the campus.
  • Popular lunch spots include Beso café next door or Hamilton Marketplace, 1½ miles north, which hosts five casual eateries.
