Ayris Hatton

Kentfield, CA

I am a visual artist, sculptor and writer.
I paint the figure, landscape, still life and genre pieces in oil, watercolor, pastel or whatever media inspires. I am a Contemporary Realist and have studied Classical Realism.
I have painted a series of life-size female figures that explore feminist spiritual issues. Please see Art in the Barn, a short film about this series on my website.
I have sculpted portraits and the figure in clay and have cast some in bronze.
I am grateful to live in Marin Co. so that I can paint open space, the bay, and the Pacific.
My art and writing often address my concerns about the environment.
I am in the process of publishing poetry, prose, and related artwork through Polished Stone Press. "Dreaming Wide Awake" will be available soon.
