Art for me means relax and have fun. It means doing what I am excited to do, what makes me happy. All of it helps me grow.
I took up photography about five years ago and discovered I loved flowers. I love taking tight shots that leave the background out of focus so that the flowers are the one and only focus. My husband and I moved to Marin three years ago to a home a few blocks from Marin Moca. We came to an open studio and James realized that getting a studio would be helpful for my confidence and I could expand my knowledge of different art styles and mediums. Change did occur. I learned to take risks, to not be so hard on myself, and to give new art styles a chance before I say it’s not for me. I have learned it is imperative to relax and just have fun. The best way to do that is to make every piece a practice piece. Make mistakes, who cares, it’s just a practice piece.
