Blessed with a keen design eye, an appreciation for many forms of art, and after taking many art classes over the years, I began to feel the need to pick up a paint brush and put my own visions to work on a blank canvas, not knowing what style would evoke my direction, feelings and journey. Once the brush hit the canvas, my creative love for abstract art was born. Flash forward 5 years later, through the process of free-flowing movement and rhythm, combining color, shapes and various forms, I have found my true outlet to express my feelings, almost in a whimsical and impulsive fashion. Painting in this non-representational technique has brought out intuitively powerful emotions in a non-objective way.
My work takes on various forms using acrylic paints, creating colorful patterns with the intention to draw in the viewer and provide a chance to challenge one’s perceptions, perspectives and assumptions. I begin each painting with a broad imagination of an intended result, adding layers of patterns and strokes that create cycles of new thoughts and movements. Ultimately, a process begins to flourish, allowing for abstract creations of colors and patterns to emerge concluding each piece. I have learned that creativity is highly contagious, gratifying and I am pleased to call myself an artist.
