Collage Workshop

The Artist Hines

Collage is a fun and easy way to produce artwork. This class will teach techniques for creating interesting collages that anyone can make. There will be a quick demonstration at the beginning of the class, and you will be assisted while you create your own collages.

Paper, magazine books, cutouts, scissors and glue sticks will be provided. You are welcome to bring any other supplies you wish. Creative ways of cutting out images including utilizing tearing, rollers, Exacto blades and swivel blades for fine detail cutting will be taught. There will be discussions on alternative adhesives such as Mod Podge and acrylic mat medium. Everyone in the class is guaranteed to go home with at least one or two great collages!

Instructor: The Artist Hines is a full-time artist originally from New York City. Hines is a self-taught artist and has thirty years of experience painting. He is a multi-disciplined artist with skills in painting, drawing, photography, videography, collage and music. Hines has taught at Riley Street Art supplies and San Quentin Prison as well as teaching private classes in the Bay Area. He is a board member and docent of MarinMOCA. He is member of The International Guild of Realism and former treasurer and president of the Artists Guild of S.F. Hines lives and works in Novato, CA.

Cancellation Policy: Fees are due at time of registration. You may cancel up to one (1) week prior to start of class/workshop and the fee, less $25 for processing, will be refunded to you. Should MarinMOCA cancel a class/workshop, you will receive a full refund.

Should you cancel less than one (1) week prior to a class or workshop begins, you will not receive a refund of any portion of your registration fee. There are no refunds for individual classes that are missed within a monthly series.
