Creating Art on your iPhone/iPad: An introduction to editing

Saturday, July 12; 1pm - 4pm

Instructor: Patricia Leeds

Using everyday snapshots, you will learn to create extraordinary images. This class is for everyone who wants to create imagery anywhere you are. You will have an art studio in your pocket. You will learn the basics in this class and be able to create contemporary digital photographic composites. The maximuym number of students is 8 for hands-on help.

You will learn:

  • Color enhancement
  • Textures
  • Painterly effects
  • Using text in your imagery
  • Compositing

You will need to bring:

  • iPhone and iPad; Models 11 or later
  • Charging cords
  • A basic knowledge of iPhone / camera and the iTunes app store are needed

Patricia Leeds is a Bay Area artist who uses the iPhone/iPad and various apps to create compelling imagery. She has won many awards and her work has been published and exhibited nationally. She was awarded the Gold winner in photography from New York's "Artforward".

"I have been a commercial photographer for over 30 years. Fourteen years ago I began my journey with mobile photography. Today I mostly create photographic imagery with my iPad. The freedom to create imagery without the bulk of equipment has been a transforming experience for me and I hope it will be for you."

Additional Materials: The instructor will be sending an email with a list of the apps that will be used so you may install them before class. The cost for these apps is under $10.
