My work is inspired by nature, interpreted through my imagination to evoke a mood or impression that communicates my personal vision. My paintings draw from my life and experience and change as I grow artistically. I currently am incorporating some gold leaf in select paintings and am experimenting with different surfaces and textures.
Although my paintings are representative, I do not attempt to imitate nature but interpret it in my own way, communicating my own vision. I would like the viewer to feel the mood and atmosphere of the scene I have painted. I have succeeded if my painting imparts a positive emotional response and a sense of peace and harmony.
Jan Buscho is a California artist whose favorite subjects for her paintings include the picturesque landscape of Marin and gardens, including her own. Jan also explores Marin, especially areas around Tomales, Bolinas and Point Reyes where she is inspired to create her landscapes.
